About Us

Wachira founded LIAISON GROUP in 1981 after several years of experience with a leading Reinsurance company in Kenya. Wachira holds a B.Sc. (Business Administration) degree from the United States University of San Diego, California, USA. He is an investor and a director of prominent tourism and real estate investments across Eastern Africa.

Tom is one of the pioneers of LIAISON GROUP. He holds a B.Com (University of Nairobi), Post Graduate MBA (University of Leicester, UK), and is also a Global Risk Management Institute, Inc RIMS Fellow (RF). Tom holds leadership positions in several economic and social enterprises across Africa and is a renowned entrepreneur.

George joined LIAISON in 2015 and is currently the Executive Director in Liaison Financial Services Limited. He is responsible for promotion and development of business opportunities on Asset-Backed Securities (“ABS), Municipal Bonds (MUNI BONDS ) and Financial Services advisory across the Group. George is a Jurist Doctor.He holds LLM in International Law ( London School of Law) Advanced Diploma in International Law ( The Hague Academy of International Law) and Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Finance, University of Nebraska, USA.

Economist with over 20 years’ experience in building capacity and delivering operations recovery projects, business reengineering, risk-mitigation programmes, stabilisation initiatives, resource-resilience strategies in diverse economic conditions and challenging environments. With a unique combination of Management & Business Development in various African markets, Eddy is an Impactful Leader capable of influencing & inspiring multicultural team members to achieve organization’s goals, with a "can do" approach for problems proven track record of success. Eddy is a very resourceful leader with multisector experience in Managing Companies and Entrepreneurship. Throughout his professional journey, Eddy has excelled in introducing and developing failing operations from the ground with talented approach, executing integrated projects that led to knock-on business opportunities and network growth.

John Nyakahuma is a highly accomplished business development expert, coach, and trainer specializing in leadership, management, and team development. He founded a business leadership training and development company in 2010, operating across Eastern Africa. With extensive experience at senior levels in international organizations such as the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the British Council, John is certified in CRESTCOM International Training of Trainers and Ken Blanchard Situational Leadership. He also holds certifications from the Commonwealth Foundation in Corporate Governance and completed a course for Directors by the Centre for Corporate Governance in Kenya.
John has trained high-ranking individuals, including ministerial-level personnel in Rwanda, working with various government offices. Some notable beneficiaries of his expertise include Bank of Kigali, the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in Rwanda, Rwanda Management Institute, Hotel Des Mille Collines, and the Capacity Development and Employment Services board (CESB, now part of the Rwanda Development Board).
John holds a Bachelor's degree from Makerere University, Kampala, and a Master's degree in Marketing from the University of Leicester, UK. Currently serving as the Managing Director of Leadership Impact Solutions, Eastern Africa, he was a global Board member of CRESTCOM International and is a member of the Harvard Business Review Global Advisory Council.

Joan joined LIAISON GROUP in 2021. She is a dynamic HR Professional with over 10 years’ International and Regional experience in the Financial Services sector including Insurance, Insurance Brokerage, Banking under the Big Four Professional Services firm with an in- depth skill in distilling business strategy into people priorities through strategic thinking. She has worked in key markets including Hong Kong and Kigali.
Joan is deeply passionate about Talent Management- enabling individuals identify their strengths and opportunities and seeing how to bridge the two.

Mendies joined Liaison Group in 2017. She has a solid background experience in the insurance industry and has worked in Zimbabwe, Uganda, Tanzania and now Rwanda. Mendies holds a Bachelor of Commerce Degree in Management from National University of Science and Technology Zimbabwe. She also holds a Diploma in Insurance with the Insurance Institute of Zimbabwe, and Advanced Diploma in Insurance with the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK.

Fred joined Liaison in 2004. An economist by profession, he has over 25 years’ experience in international pensions and investment consultancy in Eastern Africa. Prior to joining Liaison Fred worked for leading international brands in the banking and insurance sector and also served as a member in the first board of the Kenya Association of Investment Groups (KAIG). As a leading pensions expert plays a key role in pensions consultancy work and has extensive experience throughout the East African region.

Blaise Joined Liaison Rwanda Limited in 2012. He holds a Master of Science in Project Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology and graduated from National University of Rwanda with a Bachelor’s Degree of Accounting Sciences. Oscar has accumulated significant experience in the insurance industry especially in General insurance management.
